You probably know the whole point of Don’t Change Much is to get guys to make small, simple changes to reap big health rewards. Show me an easier change than not sitting too much, and I’ll show you a liar. Between driving, work and watching TV, more than half of the average guy’s day is spent sitting down. Seriously guys, doing something as dead simple as standing up once an hour has the potential to change your life!

The issue comes when your body is in the same position, with little or no movement, for 60 to 90 minutes straight. Sitting (or standing) for hours without any movement is going to mess you up over the long-term, causing back problems and poor circulation. So try these simple tips to get you out of your seat and onto your feet more often:

Get healthier with 2 easy steps

  1. A good rule of thumb is to get up for 10 minutes after every hour of sitting. That means standing at your desk, taking a walk around the office, or even going to grab a coffee down the block.
  2. Set a timer on your phone to go off once an hour. When it rings, take your cue for an office lap or bathroom break.

Just remember: Sit Less + Move More = Better Health.
